David C. Frederick Honors College Commencement Celebration

Information about the David C. Frederick Honors College Spring Commencement Ceremony

Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center

  • Watch the livestream of the Spring 2024 Commencement Ceremony.
  • You are allowed to invite up to 4 guests.
  • Academic regalia (cap, gown, and hood) is required to participate; watch the "how to wear your regalia" video. We will have some regalia available to be loaned out on a first-come, first-served basis for our ceremony. Please reach out to Lauren DelSignore to request loaner regalia (LND16@pitt.edu). See information about how to purchase academic regalia from the University Store (below). You will also obtain University honors graduation cords (for summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude) through the University Store. Any issues with University honors graduation cords are handled through your home school, not the Frederick Honors College.
  • Frederick regalia—to mark your completion of the Honors Distinction, the Honors Degree, or the Bachelor of Philosophy degree—is available only through FHC. If you are attending the David C. Frederick Spring Commencement Ceremony, you will receive your Frederick regalia at the ceremony. If not, you can pick it up in advance of the ceremony. You do not need to purchase your Frederick regalia. During the ceremony, as graduates walk across the stage, Assistant Dean Hornyak will place cords (Distinction graduates), a stole (Degree graduates), or a medallion (BPhil graduates) on you.
  • Parking is available throughout Oakland (Soldiers & Sailors Garage, Sennott Square Garage, Forbes & Semple Garage, in addition to street parking).
