The following are opportunities for Politics & Philosophy majors:

Internships

Institute of Politics Internship - Many P&P majors have completed this internship which places undergraduate students in elected officials' Pittsburgh offices. The officials may be from the federal, state, or local levels. Applications are generally due at the beginning of April (for the following fall) and the middle of November (for the following spring).

Municipal Intern Program - The Local Government Academy, an independent non-partisan organization with the goal of promoting excellence in local government, coordinates summer internships across a number of topics in municipal government during the summer.

Research Opportunities

Dietrich School Summer Undergraduate Research Awards - The Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity (OUR) in the Dietrich School is offering twelve $3,500 Summer Undergraduate Research Awards to students conducting directed independent research under a Dietrich School faculty mentor. This announcement and cover sheet for the application contains details and requirements for the program. More information can be found on the OUR website above. The Community-Based Research Fellowship Program supports University of Pittsburgh undergraduate students while they are conducting community-based research projects. Research projects must investigate an issue in the local community. Undergraduate students from across schools and disciplines are encouraged to apply.
