Lauren joined the University Honors College in September 2014 as the receptionist. Lauren has first contact with students, families, and tourists. Lauren also manages administrative tasks such as travel management and disbursement requests as well as co-coordinates the student-ambassador program.
Lauren is from Herbert, Pennsylvania, a small village, nestled in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. In 2014, Lauren completed her Bachelors of Arts in Social Work at Pitt’s School of Social Work. During this time, she worked on various research projects and jobs. Most notably, Lauren worked in Pitt’s institutional advancement office as a student fundraiser for the Pitt Telefund. While working as a student fundraiser, Lauren was also a health care navigator, where she connected underserved community members with healthcare programs. Lauren soon realized that she was able to use her social work skills in higher education. After graduation, Lauren worked in the Payment Processing department of the University. In 2017, Lauren graduated from Pitt’s School of Education with a Master’s degree in Higher Education Management.
Outside of the UHC, Lauren enjoys spending her time following Pitt football and basketball, reading, chasing after her niece, and spending time with her family and pets. Lauren is the proud owner of a German Shepherd, two domestic shorthair cats, and one rat. As an avid adventurer, Lauren and her German Shepherd, Harley, are always exploring forests, state and city parks, and hiking trails. Lauren lives near Brentwood with her partner Jason, where they often venture to nearby cities, comic stores, and pizza parlors.
